I’m back from my vacation and here is my road trip playlist!
Hey guys! Some of you might remember that I recently visited my old stomping grounds in Ithaca. It was a lot of fun to take A around the place that I spent my college years and fully give into nostalgia.
A lot of things have changed in the area but there is still so much that remained the same. In preparing for my trip I put together a list of songs for us to listen to and I hope you enjoy my road trip playlist just as much as we did. I’ll certainly never view these songs in the same way. Now certain tracks will remind me of this trip and take on a more sentimental tone than they had previously.
When pulling together these songs I tried to stay away from songs that I already had on heavy rotation. Some songs I couldn’t bear to part with but for the most part, I felt like a new experience should get a fresh musical palate as well.
Most of my road trip playlist songs were either old faves that I had forgotten about or were by artists that I only had a cursory knowledge of but were intrigued nonetheless. I wanted to have a varied tempo since sometimes you don’t want to listen to loud power tracks and I made sure to, as always, have a diverse mix.
Keep in mind that some of the songs featured in this road trip playlist are relatively new, some are old and from varying music styles. This week scroll on down and give your ears a bit of bliss in the form of Shura, Ibeyi, M.I.A, Snakehips and listen to all featured artists on Spotify!
NOTE: Make sure to check out Ibeyi’s Instagram and other great accounts here.
