15 Must See Acts at Panorama 2017
These 15 must see acts at Panorama 2017 are really just the tip of the iceberg! I’m so excited to share today’s top picks with you since I will be attending the first day (Friday) of this three-day fest! I’ll be heading back up to the NYC area after my DC move to both see headliners Frank Ocean and Solange (!!!) and to celebrate one of my friend’s birthdays.
In other words, it’s going to be a fantastic weekend so this list of stellar artists is a bit longer than past festival features. I opted to attend this festival instead of Governors Ball this year since it’s still the new kid on the festival block and I’d like to check it out. Plus, it fell pretty close to my friend’s bday so everything just kind of worked out.
This feature highlights a ton of the acts, both new and old that you should absolutely check out if you’re attending all three days. Normally I just stick to the up and comers and the under the radar talent but since I’ll be covering this festival in more detail I decided to expand this list to include bigger names as well.
The Lineup
Last year’s inaugural Panorama festival brought some pretty solid talent to the tri-state area and this year is no different. Most festivals have a healthy mix of old favorites, new starlets, and a variety of genres.
There is always a not so secret competition between the festival gods to see who can pull the biggest names and the biggest semi-retired talent. Y’know, those few bands that no one has heard from in years but everyone still loves on the roster? Panorama made sure to include a slew of acts that haven’t been on the major circuit in a while.
I’m most excited for MGMT on Friday who I haven’t seen live since almost 10 years ago in 2008. Nine Inch Nails, A Tribe Called Quest and are also must-see acts at Panorama 2017 but both of those bands will perform on the final Sunday show.
The lineup also includes artists like Girl Talk, Honne, Spoon, Alt-J, Tame Impala, and Tyler the Creator. Just those musicians alone show you the variety on display and I can’t wait to share my thoughts on this festival with you!
