What better way to kick off the start of August than a playlist?
I honestly can’t believe that it’s already August and the summer is almost at that time of the season where the swan song starts playing. I can almost sense the impending curtain call, the days getting shorter and breeze getting a bit chillier. Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself but this season just feels like it’s zipping right past! Then again I could just be subconsciously willing it to move quicker so we can get to my two favorite times of the year – my birthday and the start of autumn! It’s no secret that fall is my favorite season and with my birthday being in one of the last few weeks of summer I feel like it’s a fun precursor to several good things to come.
Before I go on too much longer about my birthday let’s get back to the first playlist of August! If you remember, Last week I focused on a few tracks that I recently rediscovered through the shuffle mode in my iTunes library playlist. When I was putting that post together there were a bunch of songs that didn’t make the cut that I really wanted to share. Typically I’ll share four songs a week with a bonus song added for good measure every now and then. Last week, at the rate that I was writing down songs to consider, I almost ended up with at least double that number. It can be rough to choose only four songs for a playlist but thankfully there are plenty of Mondays to go around.
I hope you like some of the tunes I’ve fallen in love with all over again this week! Keep in mind that some of the songs featured in this music playlist are relatively new, some are old and from varying music styles. This week scroll on down and give your ears a bit of bliss in the form of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Bravery, Mando Diao and The Killers.
Have a favorite? Share what you think of this playlist and in the upcoming weeks expect festival highlights from the Mad Decent Block Party and other weekly Music Monday picks!
