Happy Monday! Ready for some new tunes?

Last week I went back to my playlist format and showcased a few tunes for you all to check out. I always enjoy sharing my thoughts on the concerts I attend but it’s great to have a bit more flexibility and to be able to highlight more than just one artist at a time. Speaking of concerts have you guys been to any great ones lately?

You can check out the few that I’ve recently attended here, here, and here. I’m sure you have some fantastic summer plans that you’re either fulfilling at this moment or soon will be and I’d love to hear about them. This blog is my little way of being able to share my world but I’d also like to get to know all of you a bit better too. Don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation in the comments or to get a bit more personal and shoot over an email my way here.

This week I thought I would share a few older tunes that I rediscovered. Do you guys use the shuffle option when listening to your music library? I swear by it! Almost every week I add new music to my iTunes and it’s impossible to listen to it all at once. You’ll add a few albums, listen to them for awhile, move onto the next and before you know it forget that you even have those records.

Shuffle allows me to remember all the music that I have and occasionally become reacquainted with an old favorite. A recent example of this was Foxes, she’s only now coming out with new material but I had forgotten how much I liked some of her older tunes from her previous album, Glorious, and so I added one of her songs to last week’s Music Monday post.

I know that some people don’t like mixing their music and might feel a bit off if one minute you’re listening to Rihanna and then The Kinks, followed by the Spice Girls and then Johnny Cash but that’s part of what I like about it. The magic of the shuffle button is that it’s all about that surprise element and who doesn’t like a good surprise?

I mentioned a surprise I’ve been planning in a previous post and don’t worry you won’t have much longer to wait to find out more! Check back on 7/29 to know more!

I hope you like some of the tunes I’ve fallen in love with all over again this week! Keep in mind that some of the songs featured in this music playlist are relatively new, some are old and from varying music styles. This week scroll on down and give your ears a bit of bliss in the form of Laura Welsh, Ellie Goulding, Metric and Franz Ferdinand.

Which one is your fave? Share what you think of these tunes and in the upcoming weeks expect festival highlights from the Mad Decent Block Party and other weekly Music Monday picks!

P.S. Make sure you check back on 7/29 for a special post!
