Whistle While You Work & When Music is Playing
How do you feel about January? I don’t know about you guys but I’ve never really known what to think about the first month of the year. When I was in school I looked forward to having Marin Luther King Jr. Day off but I also dreaded having to come back to school after the holiday break. Just last year I celebrated a milestone with A at the end of January but besides that there is not much of note going on during this month. Now that I’m older I’ve started to using January as a time to take care of any loose ends that remained from the end of the previous year.
It can be super annoying to have big and small tasks linger on your to-do list but sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day. By the time the holidays roll around any remaining time that’s left goes to gift wrapping and the like. When I want to concentrate and get in the zone I put on music. Sometimes it takes me a bit to get my mind in order but its a lot easier for me to focus when music is playing. I hear the lyrics and sing-along, I jive off the beat, and before I know it I’m in a good mood and ready to go!
I have a music project that I’m really excited to bring to the blog later this month, a new web design to tweak, and a few art related projects as well. Sometimes I feel like my concentration is nonexistent but music has helped me get back on track time and time again.
This week I’ve put together a few tunes that I’ve listened to while working on all of these exciting projects. I hope you enjoy them when they’re all up on the blog but until then enjoy some of the music behind these ventures and don’t forget about last week’s too!
Keep in mind that some of the songs featured in this playlist are relatively new, some are old and from varying music styles. This week scroll on down and give your ears a bit of bliss in the form of Lady Gaga, The Mynabirds, The White Stripes & The Civil Wars. You can also listen to all the featured artists on Spotify!
What do you do to get motivated? Do you work better when music is playing?
NOTE: R.I.P. David Bowie.
Next week expect something special in his honor. (You can see it now here)
