It Always Gets Better When You See You Put It Into Perspective
Let’s get straight to it and have a bit of real talk. It always gets better but when I lack the desire to be present it’s hard to remember that. I’ll find myself in an awful mood that lingers for too long and that’s when I know I need to take a moment to think. It’s when I need to create something and get my feelings down on paper, canvas, post-it note or blog.
Now is one of those times. The past week has been quite the rollercoaster and I don’t have much to say about it besides the fact that I just feel drained by it. Before you get concerned nothing that I have experienced this past week is devastating or has any sort of long lasting implications. Still, in this moment, I have been greatly impacted by them and it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel even though I know it’s only a stones throw away.
When I feel like this I do my best to give myself the much-needed space necessary to not be overwhelmed by it all. I know with time anything that is troubling me today will be gone tomorrow and that’s all I can focus on at this moment.
Recently, I heard someone say that you shouldn’t worry about anything that won’t matter in a year. I really wish I knew who said it or who shared that quote so I could thank them for sharing that nugget. In this case, and I’m sure the same could be said for some of you, nothing that is bothering me will matter in a year. In fact, in a year, I will be very very close to the end of the cause of this discomfort.
Although I’m down now I know I’ll get past it. I think we should never neglect our feelings no matter how uncomfortable or stressing they may be to us. Still, I think we should allow ourselves to feel our emotions through the correct perspective. Too many people focus on the negativity and don’t take the time to think about the big picture.
You might be in a rough patch and it might suck. You might be at rock bottom with no end in sight. Still, if whatever is troubling you is temporary, if it’s something that you can overcome then you should view it as a challenge and not a barrier. Once you climb over this hurdle you’ll have a story to share and will have added another layer to your personality.
I guess I did have more to say about it than I realized. Haha. If you take anything away from this I just want you to know that your feelings are valid but you shouldn’t let it sour your spirit.
Hopefully, these songs will inspire you to reach for the positive things in life even when it’s tough to do so.
