9 Must See Emerging Acts at Governors Ball 2017
Governors Ball is my neck of the woods. It would have been fun to check out the emerging acts at Governors Ball 2017 but with a big move fast approaching it didn’t seem like the best idea. I’ve been a bit quieter on the music front this year so far because I’ve been wrapped up in preparing for my relocation to the D.C. area this summer. Still, I did manage to squeeze in a free set from PVRIS at their sponsored Steve Madden show.
It wasn’t the first time I saw them live. You can check out my thoughts on their headlining Webster Hall show and feel free to compare the two!
Governors Ball Tips
Governors Ball is an NYC staple and even though other festivals call New York home like Panorama and Electric Zoo, this one still brings in the most buzz. I’m actually attending Panorama Festival this year and although the scene is bound to be different there are some things that are universal.
If you want to survive Governors Ball or any other music festival you have to come prepared with a game plan. Of course, that includes staying hydrated and wearing sensible shoes but it also includes making sure you show up for more than just the headliners. (Click to Tweet)
Festival tickets are pricey! Although the tickets are more than worth it when you calculate all the individual ticket prices and fees you would spend if you saw each act on the bill separately, it’s still a steep upfront price for many.
So, my mission is to convince you to not just attend Gov Ball but to make seeing the emerging acts at Governors Ball 2017, or any other festival, a priority. I put together an ongoing festival playlist on Spotify that you can check out either in the sidebar or on the site.
Let me know what summer performances you’re excited to see and make sure to show these rising talents some love below!
