2016 Grammy Nominees
Some of the best moments of the Grammy’s are hidden in the performances and the odd couple music collaborations that only happen on the Grammy stage. The 2016 Grammy nominees is, for the lack of a better word, “meh.” I’m not hating on any of the nominees I actually like quite a few of them and this playlist is made up of songs from a few of the 2016 Grammy nominees.
The thing is, every year you see the same names. It’s hardly revolutionary and it always makes me think about the wonderful talents that don’t make the cut. I don’t get why we always see the same names. I’m sure there are many reasons that are political and otherwise but, as a music lover, it can be a bit frustrating.
I don’t envy the people who have to make the decisions and pick the winners. The reality is that I don’t think anyone would get an award if it were left up to me. I would probably end up asking people to share because I can’t decide on just one. hah. I’m sure that would go over really well. . .with no one.
For this super sized playlist let’s enjoy the mega stars that did get noticed and keep in mind that some of the songs featured in this are relatively new, some are old and from varying music styles. This week scroll on down and give your ears a bit of bliss in the form of Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, James Bay, Maroon 5, Jack Ü, Florence + The Machine, Elle King, Lianne La Havas, J. Cole and Nicki Minaj.
